In order to properly provide the necessary support to the first year Guarantee Scholars, the UNCG Guarantee Program selects 5-7 Guarantee Cohort Captains to serve as peer mentors to you!

The Guarantee Cohort Captain is intended to provide you with support and role modeling as you transition from high school to college. The Cohort Captains will be utilized to build and encourage engagement within the Guarantee Program as a member of the staff. The Guarantee Cohort Captain will serve as a peer mentor to you over the course of your first year!

Hello everyone! My name is Scherita, but pretty much everyone calls me Rita. I'm from Goldsboro, NC and I'm majoring in Human Development/Family Studies with minors in African American Studies, American Sign Language & Photography. I decided to do all of that because I went to an early college high school so I'll still be able to graduate in four years. Like most people I spend all my time on social media and watching Netflix but I also love discovering new music, finding new books, and taking pictures of my friends. I love Guarantee and can't wait to meet all the new scholars!

Hi everyone! My name is Jamie Cannady and I am a sophomore scholar here at UNCG. I am a dance major going for my BA in Dance Studies with a Choreography Track. I have been dancing since I was very young, and have a deep rooted passion for teaching it. I am a firm believer in following your dreams, and as a Cohort Captain, I hope to inspire you all to chase yours!
My name is Hailey Nichols, and I'm a Choral Music Education Major in my second year here at UNCG. I live about an hour away in Pilot Mountain, where the tea is sweet and the smell of honeysuckles is even sweeter! I enjoy looking at memes, coloring with friends, working out, having jam sessions, and trying all types of coffee! You can normally find me at the fountain outside the Caf. My goal in college is to make lifelong friendships and discover more about myself.

In my free time, I like to go hiking and Enoing, read good books, make crafts, and try new foods! I love getting to know people and spending time with friends! Fun fact: I have a sea turtle Tattoo!

My name is Maya Simmons from Clinton, NC. I am Sophomore, Art History Major with a Pre-Medicine Concentration. My hobbies are listening to music, painting, and binge watching shows on Netflix. A fun fact is that my birthday sometimes falls on Thanksgiving day. I love the Guarantee program and cannot wait to build new relationships with the scholars this year.
