Hey you! Did you know that the UNC systems offer Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina as student health insurance.
Student Health Services automatically bills students for the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each semester. The plan covers 100% of services done by Student Health Providers and prescriptions filled by the Student Health Pharmacy with a $15 copayment per prescription or refill. If you already have an outside insurance and do not want the Student Health Insurance Plan you can waive the insurance. In order to waive the Student Blue Health Insurance, you will have to waive the insurance through Student Blue Portal before September 12, 2016. If you fail to waive the SHIP before the deadline, the automatic charge will remain on the your student account and will be nonrefundable.
