A Heads Up on the Campus Library!

Top 5 Things You Should Know About the Library Sooner Rather Than Later

Hello all,

The Campus Library is a place that you will become very familiar with, very early on. In this post, I will be discussing some facts about the Campus Library that Freshmen normally don't find out until a few weeks/months into the semester.

1) Not Only Can You Rent Books, But You Can Rent DVDs

Yes, you can check-out two dvds at a time from the library, and you may keep them for a week before having to return them. Their dvd collection is MASSIVE! They have multiple copies of just about every movie you can think of. They also have TV series' that you can rent and watch. Upset that Game of Thrones isn't on Netflix? RENT IT FROM THE LIBRARY!

2) You Can Reserve A Room For A Group, Or For Yourself

Have a group project you need to finish? Need to study, but your roommate is inconsiderately blasting Beyonce's "Lemonade?" If so, you can reserve a room in the library. Now you have no excuse for not completing your work.

3) The Library Has "Group Study" Floors and "Quiet" Floors

If you don't feel like reserving a room, or if they are all filled, you can go a floor in the tower of the library and do some studying or group work there. On the "Group Study" floors, people are allowed to talk, but there is still the "Library Courtesy" Policy about keeping your voices low, and trying not to be a hindrance to others. So, no parties in the library (cue the violins). On the "Quiet" Floors, there is little to no talking. This is where people go to study or do homework alone and in COMPLETE silence.

4) You Can Check-Out Electronics

Is your laptop bogged down with viruses? No need to worry, at the Campus Library, you can rent electronics to do your work, as long as you bring them back within the hour.

5) The Super Lab

On the first floor of the Campus Library, you can find the Super Lab. It is a room full of Desktop Computers (Both Mac and Microsoft) where you can complete schoolwork. The best thing about the Super Lab is that there are printers that you can use. Plus, every student gets a $3.00 credit for printing in the Super Lab, (the printing is really cheap, so most people never even go over the $3.00 credit). If you run out of that credit, it will just take it out of your Spartan Cash on your ID.

So, those are the Top 5 Things You Should Know About the Library Sooner Rather Than Later.
